Brahma Sarovar Kurukshetra
Brahma Sarovar is a Holy pond.It is 1800 feet long and 1400 feet broad.According to Hindu Mythology, it is believed that Brahma Sarovar is created by the creator of this Universe Lord Brahma.The sarovar is also mentioned in the eleventh century AD memoirs of Al Beruni, called Kitab-ul-Hind.
Every year lacs of people come to take a holy bath at Brahma Sarovar on the occasion of "Somavati Amavasya" (Sacred No-Moon Day that happens on a Monday) and on Sun-eclipse believed that bath in holy sarovar free from all sins and cycle of birth-death.
One of the most delightful occasions is the Gita Jyanti celebrations held in the last week of November or the first week of December at Brahma Sarovar.
All construction and renovation work of Brahma Sarovar is done by KDB (Kurukshetra Development Board).KDB makes special arrangements at the time of solar eclipse because lacs of pilgrims came from different parts of country to take bath in holy water of Brahma Sarovar.
There is a beautiful temple situated in the middle of Brahma Sarovar.
Shri Krishna Arjun Rath is also placed at a nearby space of Brahma Sarovar.
It is a very big statue built with metal.
